Synaesthesia – a phenomenon that causes sensory crossovers, such as tasting colours or feeling sounds.
Synthesis – the combination of components or elements to form a connected whole.
The project attempts to bridge the gap between the senses – aural and visual, whilst combining the sciences and the arts.
Having worked in in Interior & Architectural design and later studying Theoretical Physics, Synaesthesis is an attempt to demonstrate the possibilities of combining the two.
Many believe that an individual is either a logically minded person, or a creative individual. The two are often seen as mutually exclusive. Inherently the two fields are more different perspectives of understanding the human experience and the natural world. Both stem from observation, contemplation and an attempt at understanding the world around us.
